What to expect

Welcome to a journey of personalized care. As a new client, discover what to expect from your first visit, a personalized care plan, and a path to optimal health.

We prioritize correcting dysfunctions in the spine. Misalignment can contribute to many different types of complaints, including headaches, chronic neck / back pain and shoulder pain. Read more about different complaints and what chiropractic care can help with.

We focus on the cause, not just the symptom.

How does it work?

After a chiropractic correction, clients often feel immediate relief. Where previously you could not look to the right or left and your muscles were stiff and tense, the goal after a correction is to see immediate changes.

If you have been suffering from chronic pain for years, however, do not expect to be pain free after 1 correction. It takes several corrections in quick succession over multiple visits. Your brain must get used to the new corrected movement pattern and learn to maintain and control your body from this new alignment. This is why we often recommend an intensive period for clients with complaints, after which you can enter an adaptive phase of care.

Is it time for more freedom of movement and less pain? Then schedule an appointment or reach out, today.

CHIROPRACTIC CORRECTIONS ARE QUICK AND EASY!
Intake Phase

We follow a systematic, thorough approach to your clinical experience with us. We do not cut corners as it is paramount that you receive the right intervention at the right time for the right purpose. As such, you can expect that your intake will begin with us discussing your symptoms in detail and performing a detailed physical examination, including evaluation of the spine and nervous system.

We also look at your posture and muscle tone. After the examination, we will let you know if you are a candidate for chiropractic care or not. We will review the results of your intake together through a report of findings and we will recommend a plan for your care. Once you have decided if you would like to proceed with chiropractic care, you will receive your first chiropractic correction. Prior to your first correction, we will obtain your informed consent. The first correction is often quite a relief after which you will experience improved freedom of movement. Then, we will work with you to develop your schedule of care.

Intensive Phase

We will usually recommend an intensive start-up phase. Whether you suffer from many symptoms or not, we think it is important that your central nervous system relearns how to maintain proper control of your body. When there is too much time between the first corrections, it is more difficult to build this memory and good habit, which is why we recommend this phase.

Once your spine gets used to the new alignment and your nervous system learns to stay in better balance, we can move to a decreased frequency of checks.

Maintenance Phase

Usually, after the intensive phase, it is enough for clients to return for less frequent neurospinal checks. Some can wait up to a month, while others will do better with weekly visits on an ongoing basis. While some call this “maintenance” care, we prefer for you to think of it as “adaptive” care. This is because your life and stressors around you are constantly changing. Some months you may be stress-free, some months your nervious system may need some extra help. Due to everyday stresses of life, we all get “stuck” on a regular basis, which this phase helps with. Some people like to come more or less often.

What works for you is very personal—we will work together to find out what works well for you.

Neurological testing
Neurological testing
  • neuroPULSE (HRV) — Where a patient plots on the INSiGHT HRV graph represents how much reserve that patient has to adapt to daily and eventful stressors.

  • neuroCORE (sEMG) — Surface EMG is the ideal strategy for measuring the combined outcomes of postural and neuromuscular exhaustion.

  • neuroTHERMAL (Thermal) — Thermographic scanning detects patterns of unbalanced temperature regulation. This is a regional autonomic function mediated by the sympathetic motor nerves.
